The Prince William County School Board had a "congressional moment" on Thursday, working past 2 AM to determine a school re-entry plan to satisfy concerns about the spread of COID-19. In the end it was decided unanimously that schools will not open for in-person learning in the fall. The plan was a compromise rom Babur Lateef who initally wanted to re-open in August with 50 percent in-person learning and 50 percent online.
The 91,000 students that make up the school district will return to the classroom gradually based on the following plan:
-The rist nine weeks in the fall of 2020 will be online only.
-The second nine weeks will be 50/50 (divided between online and in-person).
-School will potentially return to a normal schedule of in class room learning by the thrid nine weeks.
-Special need students will receive partial in-person education.
When schools are running in full swing, teachers will be expected to wear PPE.
