Trump has been scrutinized for taking a non-FDA approved drug, Hydrochloriquine. He said on Monday that he has been taking the drug for about 10 days, ignoring the FDA warning that the drug could cause heart problems.
Even though trying the drug on himself out of curiosity, is a personal choice, it also defies conventional wisdom from the medical community.
“I think it's worthwhile as a line of defense, and I plan on staying on it for a little while longer. I'm just very curious myself,” he adds.
Trump also says the Veterans Affairs study on Hydroxychloroquine indicating that there is no benefit is a "Trump enemy statement."
Secretary of the Department of Veteran Affairs, Robert Wilkie now says that the study critical of Hydroxychloroquine was “not a VA study.”
President Donald Trump made wearing a mask mandatory for everyone but himself and apparently Vice Pres. Mike Pence. But, the two leaders are handling how they approach COVID-19 on a personal level differently.
