An Air India Airbus A320-200, flight AI-3209 from Kolkata to Aizawl (India) with 140 passengers, landed about 1000 meters down the 2500 meters long runway 17/35 at Aizawl. The crew applied hard manual braking to avoid an overrun and brought the airplane to a stop short of the runway end. Two tyres deflated however.

The airport authority reported that the weather was fine and clear at the time of the incident.
