Incident: Sri Lankan A343 near Male on Feb 14th 2011, bomb hoax

By Simon Hradecky, created Monday, Feb 14th 2011 21:24Z, last updated Monday, Feb 14th 2011 21:26Z A Sri Lankan Airbus A340-300, registration 4R-ADB performing flight UL-509 from Colombo (Sri Lanka) to Male (Madives) with 199 passengers and further on to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was enroute to Male when a passenger started to claim a bomb was on board. The crew continued for a safe landing in Male. A subsequent search of the aircraft and luggage found no trace of explosives. The passenger was arrested by Male's police. The airplane continued the flight to London reaching the destination with a delay of 75 minutes.
